Our Future Olympic Diver

So the other day I turned on the Olympics to let Taylor watch gymnastics but before it came on they were finishing the diving competition. Taylor thought the flips off the platforms were pretty cool so she ran out of the room to get Connor. I didn't mind because at the time I thought, "What harm could watching the Olympics bring?" Anyway, I guess Connor thought it looked fun and easy because when he got into the bath that night he decided he would climb on the side of the tub and give it a try. As you can see it didn't work as planed and I think he learned his lesson. Connor was OK after his Olympic dive. His cheek was a little swollen and bruised which is healing quit well, but I have decided that he is not allowed to watch the gymnastic in fear of what he might try.

Happy Birthday Connor

We can't believe that our Con-man just turned three, He is growing up way too fast. We are so proud of him. He has always been a smart kid and picked up on things very early; like walking , talking , potty training and dressing himself. But he still has grown up so much, especially since he found out he was going to be a big brother(which he talks about every day). We couldn't ask for a more sweet loving little boy and brother. We love you Connor Happy Birthday

Connor loves action heroes so he decided he wanted a super hero birthday party.

Connor had to lick all the action figures after he took them off the cake, and Taylor... I guess she didn't want her picture taken because she was in a good mood.

We were lucky to have Grammy and Ponk come down for a little birthday party.
The kids love them and always have fun when they see them. Thank you, Mom and Dad.

The one thing Connor insisted on having at his party was a pinata and he loved it.

This is the bumble bee transformer Taylor gave Connor.

Connor loves army guys, in fact he only likes wearing his army-guy shorts(that's what he calls them). So Grandma and Grandpa gave him this fun army-guy costume which he loves. Thank you, Grandma and Grandpa Hendrickson.

Connor loves to play swords with Curtis and has wanted this light saber ever since he went to his cousins' house.

This is the cake Taylor made by herself for Connor.

Pool Party

It is REALLY hot in Vegas. The other day it was 97 and we were thankful for the cool weather. So, we go swimming a lot.

Connor loves to swim. He also loves swimming accessories.
He is a trooper and is not afraid of the water at all. It's a little scary.

Taylor loves to swim too.

This is about as tricky as Taylor gets in the water.
Today she was explaining that she is worried that they won't let her
into pre-school because she is too scared to jump into the water.
As soon as he heard that, Connor got out of the pool, ran over to the deep end, and jumped in.
Then he said, "Now I can go to school."

We have fun with the pool and will miss it when we move in just under 11 months.

My Kids New Beds

We decided that it was time to get the kids in their own beds. Instead of buying something that we didn't really like but was cheap we decided to build our own. I guess I should say Curtis did all the building but I did help him paint. Anyway I am pretty impressed with the job that Curtis did so I wanted to show it off.
Connor's Bed
Curtis is a pretty talented guy. Not only did he built these in the front room of our apartment with a saw and miter box , but he also built them without any type of plans.
Taylor's Bed

These are toy boxes Curtis made for the kids. Taylor's is a cedar box and my mom did the painting on the lid, and I painted Connors with stencils , I'm not as talented as my mom.
I love the wood letters above the beds so I decided I would paint my own.
I do have to say that I am pretty proud of myself I drew everything on Taylor's letters by hand... no tracing.
Just a cute picture of Taylor posing.

You Wouldn't Like Me When I'm Angry

Whenever Connor has even a slight fever we have to drug him and he HATES it. A couple of weeks ago we were having a hard time getting him to take his meds. So we told him that if he would take them we would buy him a toy, thinking a small, cheap toy. When we got to Target the first thing Connor picked up was the much-wanted Incredible Hulk hands. We tried to get him to pick something a little cheaper but he reminded us that he took his medicine like a big boy and so he got to pick a toy. That is what we told him and its was hard to tell him no, knowing how much he has wanted these hands and how cute he is when he turns into the Hulk.

The Hulk punching the wall

Whenever Connor turns in to the Hulk his voice changes and gets real raspy and monster-like. He always says, "Your making me angry. You wouldn't like me when I'm angry". I have to say it is very funny and cute , I'm going to try and catch the Hulk on video.

Just Our Luck

So, we are here and settled in Las Vegas. But it did not go the way we thought it would. As many of you know moving is not fun and is stressful, so when anything goes wrong it adds to the stress. Well anything that could have gone wrong, went wrong. Curtis was going to follow Jeff and I to the airport to drop the kids and I off, then start the 17 hour drive but, when he went down to the truck to leave it had been broken into. Nothing was stolen except a $20 pair of sunglasses, but the window was smashed and everything that was in the front was thrown on the ground. Luckily, Curtis had bought two pad locks for the back and kept the keys in the house. Once Curtis and Jeff got on their way 10 hours late, the truck started to over heat so they would pull over and wait for it to cool down and that just added to their delay. Finally we all arrived in Las Vegas Monday night and finished unloading the truck around 10:00. Wednesday morning we got up to take the truck to get the window fixed and then return it. When we went to get the truck, it was gone. Apparently HOA rule is that you can not park commercial trucks on the property so the president called to have it towed, so we spent all day getting the truck out, fixed and back to the truck rental. This whole experience has made us very excited to have to move again in 11 months.
Although the move didn't go so well we did get did get to spend a little time with my family, and best of all... go to Taylor's first dance recital. All I have to say is I have the cutest little girl in the whole world and she did such a good job at her recital. I am so glad we were able to stay in Portland just so as Taylor would say she could dance on a big stage with curtains and lights just like a real ballerina.

Big News

Well it has been a long time and I have a lot to report. We have had a lot of things going on this last month so I wont go into detail.
About 3 weeks ago we went to good old Cali, it was fun for the most part. It started out with Connor having a fever which causes him to have seizures, so that set us back a bit but he was feeling better a couple of days later. We got to Anaheim Tuesday night and went to Disney Land Wed and Thur. Of course Wed afternoon Taylor started to act funny so we took her temperature and found she had a fever of 103 but she didn't want to leave Disney Land so we drugged her and stayed. Although she was sick the two day we were their if you ask her she will say she had fun and that's all that matters.
Friday was the big day, that's was the day Curtis Graduated. Sorry if I brag a little but I am so proud of Curtis . Not only did he complete Med school but he is also an awesome husband and dad . After every meal Connor stands up and says "Look mom I'm almost as big as dad" and he is always telling us that he wants to be just like his dad, and Taylor has always been a daddy's girl. Anyway good job Curtis we love you and are proud of you.
Not only did we have a fun vacation but we also found out that we are having a baby boy. Yep, that's right. I am 22 weeks pregnant and counting down. We are all so excited to be having a new little one join our family. Especially the kids, anytime we leave they ask, "Mom, are we going to go get the baby out?" They can't wait to have him join us. So that's a quick update on what been going on in the Hendrickson Family.

Taylor on the Mary-go-round

Connor had just woke up and was not quite with it yet, and Taylor would not
let us take any pictures with Curtis because she thought he looked like Darth Vader.

This is the Incredible Hulk

(Connor loves the Incredible Hulk and turns into him quit often. )
