Halloween and More
Halloween was pretty fun this year and the kids did their share of trick-or-treating. Friday, Halloween night the kids got dressed up and we went to one of Taylor's preschool-friend's neighborhood to trick-or-treat. Everything was going fine and the kids were having fun until we came to one house. The house was decorated as much as the others but there was a man walking around with a big open wound and a device to change his voice. Trying to ignore the scary man we went to the door and knocked. As soon as the door opened Taylor started to scream... the lady who opened the door had a big scary mask on and Taylor was terrified. Because the lady wouldn't take the mask off Curtis had to take Taylor and leave while Connor collected the candy. After we got Taylor calmed down she told us that she had enough candy and was ready to go home, but of course Connor wasn't ready to go. So Curtis and Connor continued to knock on doors while Taylor and I stood on the side walk. Overall Halloween was pretty fun and If you ask Taylor she would say the same.

A few cute pictures
Things are going well here in the Hendrickson home. The kids have adjusted well to little Easton , in fact they can't leave him alone. Taylor is always singing Backyardigens to him and Connor is constantly giving him kisses and trying to get him to take a pacifier. The kids are so good with him and love him to death, but really how could you not he is so stink'n cute and for the most part is a good baby.

Easton meets Taylor and Connor
Tuesday night Taylor and Connor were missing their mom and dying to see Easton. We went to the hospital and, in spite of a couple of scary incidents (including a near shaken baby syndrome episode and a couple of karate-like kicks to Emily's stomach), it was a good time.
Pay attention to the end. Connor gets Emily out of answering some tough questions from Taylor.
P.S. Emily and Easton are home and doing well. So, after a brief stint in the blogging world, I am giving the controls back to Emily.

Easton Emery
Emily is a trooper. She was not a big fan of me taking this picture. It was taken the night before we went to the hospital. We were at Sports Authority earlier in the day and I was afraid they would stop us at the door. She looks like she is trying to steal a basketball.
I am lucky to have her.
I am lucky to have her.
He's a big kid. 9 pounds 9 ounces. 21 inches long, 31 inches long standing on tip toes (look at those flippers)
Taylor and Connor already LOVE him. I will post the video of them with him when I get more time.
Easton was born at 4:44am Oct 14. His shoulders were too big to be delivered (Shoulder dystocia) so the OB had to break one collar bone to get him out. At first they thought that they got him out without a break, but the pediatrician could feel one (poor kid). He took it like a champ. He gets his toughness from his mom, who has delivered about 27 lbs of baby so far.

Pictures and Stories from the last few weeks
We have had a lot going on these last few weeks... getting ready for the baby and all(4 more days) so, I have not post some of the fun things we have done or the funny things my kids have said so here are some random pictures and stories.

Funny things my kids have said
Connor: Mom, what is this?
ME: It's your collar bone.
Connor: Oh, we have collar bones so that we won't get lost.
Taylor: Mom look at that girl's hair, she must not wash it after she goes swimming because its really green.( the girl had dyed her hair half black half green)
Connor: Mom I'm hungry! Hook a brother up with some pizza
Lunch at Red Rock Canyon

Locked In

So, as you know, Taylor is going to preschool this year. She is in a co-op preschool (a preschool you do with other families and you each take turns teaching). Anyway, it was my turn to teach last week. Monday went pretty well so I was planning on Wednesday being the same. We started our day and things were going good. We had just had snacks and were having story time when one of the little girls let me know that she needed to use the bathroom. Being four, she could go by herself. So she goes and I continue to read. After a few minutes went by I heard her yelling " I can't get out" so I walked over to bathroom to find out that she had locked herself in. I know what your thinking, "well, just get a bobby pin and unlock it." But it wasn't that easy, it is a actual lock that you need a key for, so their is no picking it.
Anyway I keep trying to explain to this little girl how to unlock the door but she is just not getting it and finally she tells me she is to tired and just wants to take a nap. After about 45min to an hour of trying to keep her awake and playing with the door nob she gave up, stopped talking to me and went to sleep. Within this hour that she was lock in the bathroom I had called a few of the moms, the police department (I didn't get to talk to any of them), the lock smith (they said it would take about an hour before they could come),and Curtis to get some help.
To make a long story short, the fire department came... laughing, I'm sure, and broke the dumb door nob to get the little one out. So, all in all, it was a pretty productive day. I sent the kids home with blank worksheets to do at home and had to explain to the moms that their kids have been running around like wild animal planning for the majority of preschool. I'm sure they want to send their kids back next week.

I've been tagged
Here are the rules: List 3 joys, 3 fears, 3 current obsessions/collections, 3 surprising facts, and then tag 5 other people. Leave a comment for the people you tag so they know they have been tagged. Here we go
3 joys:
1: My Husband and Kids
2: My Brother and Sisters
3:Knowing we only have 3 1/2 years left of Residency
3 fears:
1:Being a bad mom
2:Feet. This isn't really a fear more then a HATE! I cant stand feet they gross me out especially if they touch me. This fear or hate for feet always made it tricky being a dancer. Have you ever seen dancing feet? They are gross and I would always have to dance barefoot. For those of you who know my family, know that they ALL like to tease, so one of the many ways they would tease me or still tease me is by putting their feet on me. Anyway enough about feet I could go on forever.
3: SPIDERS!!! - see the previous post.
3 current obsessions/collections:
1:Finding a name for my baby boy
2:Having this baby
3:Having a clean and organized home( although you would never know these days the pregnancy is kind of in the way)
3 Surprising Facts:
1: I know Heather had said this, but I too dance at home all the time ,and both the kids love the clogging. I secretly wish I was still taking dance lessons or at least a dance teacher.
2: This may not be a surprise to anyone else but it is to me. I am only 5'and 2" I always thought I was 5' and 3" until these last couple of years, The docs keep measuring me and telling me I'm only 5'2" I guess I'm starting the shrinking process early.
3:I have only said one swear word in my whole life. I was in college and I was trying to say shoot but something else came out. Swearing has just never been in my vocabulary or a temptation.
